Basketball Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Mission San Jose Warriors

The James Logan Colts will head out to take on the Mission San Jose Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James Logan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

James Logan is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since December 21, 2024 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Kennedy as James Logan made off with a 64-42 victory. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James Logan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iwalani Lealao, who went 9 for 15 en route to 22 points along with five assists and four steals. Lealao is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Mauriah Mchenry was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Lealao wasn't the only one working in the assists department: James Logan was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Mission San Jose beat Newark Memorial 57-48 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Mission San Jose's win came from a few key players James Logan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Esha Patel, who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and five blocks. She is becoming a predictor of Mission San Jose's success: when she posts at least three blocks the team is 2-1 (and 6-7 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Adhuna Devineni, who posted 12 points and four steals.

James Logan pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Mission San Jose, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

James Logan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mission San Jose when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Logan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
