Soccer Game Preview: Yucaipa vs. Citrus Valley

Yucaipa is 1-8-1 against Citrus Valley since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will look to defend their home pitch against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. Yucaipa's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Yucaipa didn't have quite enough to beat Vista Murrieta and fell 2-1.

Yucaipa's goal came courtesy of Nola Vanderfin, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Citrus Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Great Oak. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Blackhawks couldn't quite close it out.

Citrus Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Yucaipa, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Yucaipa came up short against Citrus Valley in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can Yucaipa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
