Homestead entered their tilt with Cedarburg on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.
Homestead walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 26-24, 16-25, 25-23, 25-13.
Anya Mikhailenko paced Homestead's offense, picking up 18 kills. Mikhailenko really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 28. Lauren Fitzgibbon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Despite the loss, Cedarburg still got an impressive performance from Therese Dreisbach, who had 14 assists and seven digs. Dreisbach has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played.
Homestead's victory bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Cedarburg, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-11.
