Baseball Recap: Young Americans Christian Takes a Loss

Young Americans Christian had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-11 to make it six. They came up short against the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning, falling 16-6. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Lightning from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Young Americans Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenneth Haynes, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Jack Sullivan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Lanier Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8. The result was nothing new for the Lightning, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Lanier Christian Academy's side, Owen Tedder was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Tedder has become a key player for the Lightning: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Earl Adamson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lanier Christian Academy beat Young Americans Christian by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.
