Basketball Game Preview: San Luis Obispo Tigers vs. Centennial Golden Hawks

The San Luis Obispo Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Centennial Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with San Luis Obispo sitting on 14 straight victories and Centennial on seven.

San Luis Obispo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dinuba 58-31. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Centennial over Roosevelt in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Centennial strolled past Roosevelt with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centennial pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.1 points. As for San Luis Obispo, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.

San Luis Obispo came up short against Centennial in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 51-44. Can San Luis Obispo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
