Baseball Game Preview: Castle Knights vs. Evansville Central Bears

The Castle Knights will face off against the Evansville Central Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

On Monday, Castle didn't have quite enough to beat Evansville Mater Dei and fell 5-3.

Meanwhile, Evansville Central suffered their closest loss since April 22, 2025 on Saturday. They fell just short of Heritage Hills by a score of 10-8. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evansville Central saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Reed, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The Bears are 3-1 when Reed posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Will Mattingly was another, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Evansville Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Castle was able to grind out a solid victory over Evansville Central when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 6-3. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
