Football Game Preview: Rock Creek Mustangs vs. Concordia Panthers + Official Tickets

Rock Creek is a perfect 3-0 against Concordia since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Rock Creek is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Rock Creek is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Marysville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustangs blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 56-7 final score. Considering the Mustangs have won four games by more than 37 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Zion Bell, who rushed for 227 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Bell is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Smith, who threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rock Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Concordia challenged Clay Center on Friday. The Panthers lost 47-26 to the Tigers. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Rock Creek will have to keep a close watch on Ayden Krier and Kale Schroeder, a pair of players who had a big impact on Concordia's prior game. Krier picked up 106 receiving yards and one score, while Schroeder picked up 80 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Krier didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Rock Creek's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Concordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Rock Creek against Concordia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
