Football Recap: Cedar Ridge Raiders vs. Vista Ridge Rangers
Cedar Ridge lost against Vista Ridge back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders took a 37-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rangers. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Cedar Ridge got some senior leadership from Christian Hall and Noah Devonish. Hall gained 147 total yards and two touchdowns, while Devonish gained 197 total yards and a touchdown. Hall's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Cedar Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Trent Bell. Ryder Gillespie was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Quinn Szczytowski had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs for Vista Ridge. Those 129 rushing yards gave SzczytowSki a new career-high. Ben Reed did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.
Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Vista Ridge, their record is now 5-2.
