Basketball Recap: Tahquitz Find Success

If West Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Tahquitz, they should've done a better job of containing Vanessa Garcia. The Tahquitz Titans blew past the West Valley Mustangs 59-19 on Friday thanks in part to Garcia, who dropped a triple-double with 25 points, 23 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Tahquitz's points.

Another player making a difference was Reyna Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. She has become a key player for Tahquitz: the team is 8-3 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 3-8 otherwise.

The victory got Tahquitz back to even at 11-11. As for West Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Tahquitz didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-58 loss against Temescal Canyon on the 5th. As for West Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-21 defeat against San Jacinto on the 3rd.
