Lower Moreland takes loss despite strong efforts from Emma DiJoseph and Sydney Santora

Recap: Lower Moreland Lions vs. Cheltenham Panthers

After a string of three wins, the Lower Moreland Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 68-47 defeat at the hands of Cheltenham. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lower Moreland came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Cheltenham is ranked 297th).

Sydney Santora and Emma DiJoseph certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Santora scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while DiJoseph scored eight points along with two steals. Santora is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Dani Brusha was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight assists and four steals.

Lower Moreland's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cheltenham, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Moreland will challenge Plymouth Whitemarsh at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Plymouth Whitemarsh will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Cheltenham, they will head out on the road to challenge William Tennent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
