Basketball Game Preview: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats vs. Oakland Tech Bulldogs

The St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats will square off against the Oakland Tech Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakland Tech took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Ignatius College Preparatory, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, St. Ignatius College Preparatory earned a 58-48 win over Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Oakland Tech's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 56-40 bruising from Centennial. While losing is never fun, Oakland Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 78th in California, while Centennial is ranked third in Nevada).

Oakland Tech's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory was able to grind out a solid victory over Oakland Tech in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 54-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Ignatius College Preparatory since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
