La Jolla Country Day triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Naomi Panganiban

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the La Jolla Country Day Torreys ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past Buena Park 63-60. The victory was nothing new for La Jolla Country Day as they're now sitting on four straight.

Naomi Panganiban was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Mei-ling Perry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Buena Park's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Harmon, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Higgins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

La Jolla Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Buena Park, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-1.

La Jolla Country Day will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Valley Vista is ranked 22nd in Arizona, while La Jolla Country Day is ranked 32nd in California).
