Softball Recap: Parklane Academy Find Success

Parklane Academy won the last time they faced Simpson Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pioneers walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Pfiffer Crawford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Crawford was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Zoe Alford and Anna Sawyer did most of the damage at the plate: Alford got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Sawyer went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Camryn Poole was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Parklane Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Simpson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 21-5.

Parklane Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Simpson Academy, they will be playing at home against Laurel Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.6, the Lions 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
