Basketball Recap: El Capitan Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

El Capitan proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 37) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Clovis North Broncos 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vaqueros have posted since January 30th.

El Capitan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keira Heinricy, who posted 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. Paige Worthem was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

El Capitan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.
