Preview: Poly Bears vs. Hillcrest Trojans
The Poly Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Hillcrest Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poly has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
Poly's 21-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ayala on Saturday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nea Denton, who scored 10 points. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Juliet Zaragoza, who scored 7 points.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 40-29 to Orange Vista.
The losses dropped Poly to 2-10 and Ayala to 5-5.
Poly came up short against Hillcrest when the teams last played back in November of 2018, falling 47-41. Can Poly avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
