Basketball Game Preview: York County Tech Spartans vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish

The York County Tech Spartans will face off against the York Catholic Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. York County Tech will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Saturday, York County Tech was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Tulpehocken.

Despite the defeat, York County Tech had strong showings from Faith Atwater, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 rebounds, and Na?Sya Holland, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Atwater a new career-high in points.

Even though they lost, York County Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, York Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Governor Mifflin last Saturday, taking the game 71-64. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Irish.

York Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for York County Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
