Baseball Recap: Spencer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kendrick last Monday, Spencer came back down to earth. The Greenwave came up short against the Columbus Blue Devils on Tuesday, falling 13-0. The Greenwave have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Spencer now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Columbus, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-14.

Looking ahead, Spencer is taking a road trip to challenge Hardaway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Greenwave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Columbus, they will host Sumter County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
