Basketball Recap: San Leandro Comes Up Short

San Leandro lost against Pittsburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The San Leandro Pirates fell 46-38 to the Pittsburg Pirates. San Leandro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pittsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jurnee Cox, who posted 11 points and three steals. Jenna Miller was another key player, putting up six points.

San Leandro's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Pittsburg, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-11.

San Leandro and Pittsburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. San Leandro will take on Alameda at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 354 places (496 vs. 142). Meanwhile, Pittsburg (ranked 607th) will meet Alhambra (ranked 207th) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
