Football Game Preview: Jefferson Mustangs vs. Brackenridge Eagles

The Jefferson Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Brackenridge Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Jefferson came up short against Sam Houston and fell 27-20.

Although Jefferson took the loss, they still got scores from Damian Ramirez and Aaron Garcia.

Even if they lost, Jefferson's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Garcia, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Brackenridge ended up a good deal behind Burbank on Thursday and lost 30-13. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Brackenridge, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Jefferson against Brackenridge in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
