Soccer Game Preview: Valley View vs. Liberty

The Valley View Eagles will head out to face off against the Liberty Bison at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley View's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Valley View's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They beat Poly by a goal, winning 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Hillcrest. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Bison couldn't quite close it out.

Valley View pushed their record up to 12-1-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those nine matchups. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-4.

Valley View beat Liberty by a goal in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley View since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
