Softball Game Preview: Harris County Tigers vs. North Springs Spartans

The Harris County Tigers will face off against the North Springs Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Harris County will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Harris County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Heard County. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 19 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Chloe Wolfenbarger, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Heard County off the board. Wolfenbarger has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ivy McCormick and Caroline Gatewood did most of the damage at the plate: McCormick went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, while Gatewood got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most doubles McCormick has posted since back in August. Ella Kate Conkle was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, North Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Blessed Trinity on Thursday and fell 9-8.

Leila Madesko and Livvy Jones did some serious damage despite the final result: Madesko got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Jones went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Jones has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Masker, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

North Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Harris County, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4.
