Basketball Recap: Oil City Comes Up Short

Oil City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Hickory Hornets didn't end well, with the Oil City Oilers falling 50-34. The Oilers were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in January of 2022.

It was another big night for Kimora Roberts, who dropped a triple-double on 30 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals for Hickory. That makes it three consecutive games in which Roberts has scored at least a third of Hickory's points. Another player making a difference was Mya Odem, who posted two points along with seven boards and three steals.

Oil City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hickory, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oil City will square off against Meadville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hickory has already played their next game (against Jamestown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
