Softball Recap: Academy for Classical Education's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Academy for Classical Education can now relate to. They fell just short of the Berrien Rebels by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday. The Gryphons' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Avery Stone stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, five runs, and two doubles. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Reese Thames was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Academy for Classical Education's defeat dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Berrien, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-21.

As of now, neither Academy for Classical Education nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
