Basketball Recap: Stockdale's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Stockdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 36-29 win over the Garces Memorial Rams on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stockdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leandra Tulud led the charge by putting up eight points and six rebounds. Ashley Wilson was another key player, posting eight points and seven boards.

Despite the defeat, Garces Memorial saw an underclassman step up: freshman Skye Richard posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Acosta, who scored six points and 11 rebounds.

With the victory, Stockdale broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9. As for Garces Memorial, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Stockdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-36 defeat against Ridgeview on the 16th. Garces Memorial has also already played their next game, a 70-30 loss against Frontier on the 16th.
