Softball Recap: Akron-Westfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Akron-Westfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the West Lyon Wildcats by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Westerners have suffered since May 25, 2024.

Akron-Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for West Lyon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Akron-Westfield will host George-Little Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Westerners are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for West Lyon, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against MOC-Floyd Valley at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.3, the Dutchmen 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
