Northside faced Loganville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 5-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Wetherly Ridley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Layla Phelps and Kennedy Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Phelps went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Williams went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Williams has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Northside's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Loganville, they moved to 17-2 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Red Devils beat Northside by a score of 10-8 later that day.
