Softball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Plattsburg

Summit Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Plattsburg Tigers on Tuesday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 12-10 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Karli Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Miller was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Steffes, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Macy Batchelder, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Summit Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in September of 2024.
