The timing is sure in Heartland Christian's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Sebastian's Soldiers HomeSchool has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Heartland Christian put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Legacy Christian 71-30 at home.
Heartland Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clay Nivens led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six rebounds. Bryce Youngquist was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, St. Sebastian's Soldiers HomeSchool pushed their score all the way to 55 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-55 bruising from Legacy Christian.
Heartland Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for St. Sebastian's Soldiers HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
