Soccer Recap: Woodland Takes a Loss

Woodland lost against Cass back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Woodland Wildcats fell just short of the Cass Colonels by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Colonels are ranked 84th).

Woodland dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cass, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland will welcome Northwest Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Whitfield's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Woodland's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cass, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cedartown's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last six matchups.
