Basketball Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Eastside Lions
The Lompoc Braves and the Eastside Lions will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lompoc comes in on four and Eastside on three.
Lompoc picked up another tournament win on Friday. They managed a 42-38 win over Porterville. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Panthers are ranked 994th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lompoc found their leader in sophomore Tiana Terrones, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Terrones has scored all season. Mia Jansen was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lompoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eastside duked it out withSan Bernardino on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 54-12 stomp they got against San Bernardino. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 36 points or more this season.
The victory got Eastside back to even at 4-4. As for Lompoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
