Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends ABF Academy's Winning Streak

After flying high against 212 Sports Academy last Tuesday, ABF Academy came back down to earth. The contest between the ABF Academy Cowboys and the Montverde Academy Gold Eagles didn't end well, with the ABF Academy Cowboys falling 88-74. The Cowboys were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January.

Defeat or not, ABF Academy got some senior leadership from Eric Dibami and Miguel Ruiz. Dibami posted 25 points, while Ruiz had 22 points. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Paez, who earned ten points.

ABF Academy moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Montverde Academy Gold, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 6-3.

ABF Academy and IMG Academy Blue will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. ABF Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully IMG Academy Blue likes a good challenge. As for Montverde Academy Gold, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lake Brantley at 10:30 a.m. on January 2, 2025.
