Habersham Central dropped down to 7-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 53-6 loss at the hands of the Jackson County Panthers. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Paris Wilbanks threw for 98 yards and one TD. Tylon Davis was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Donnie Warren rushed for 27 yards.

As for Jackson County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games.

Jackson County found their leader in sophomore Daylan Maxwell, who rushed for 237 yards and three scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Those 237 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Maxwell. Jayson Lee was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Habersham Central and Jackson County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Raiders see the field they'll take on Statesboro at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Jackson County, their break will end when they face Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th.
