Basketball Recap: Aliso Niguel Takes a Loss

Aliso Niguel played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the San Juan Hills Stallions, falling 52-25. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Stallions recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Anna Shreeve was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 20 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds for San Juan Hills. Shreeve has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ellasyn Hunter was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Aliso Niguel's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11. As for San Juan Hills, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aliso Niguel will head out to take on Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for San Juan Hills, they will take on Trabuco Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
