Basketball Recap: Desert Ridge Comes Up Short

Desert Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a blow against the Higley Knights, falling 84-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-27 back in January.

Higley found their leader in sophomore Cadence Murdough, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Murdough is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Claire Greenwade was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 15 assists.

Desert Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Higley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Desert Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-25 loss against Williams Field on the 7th. As for Higley, they have also already played their next match, a 70-49 defeat against Campo Verde on the 5th.
