Baseball Game Preview: Stone Mountain Pirates vs. Cedar Grove Saints

Stone Mountain is 0-8 against Cedar Grove since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Stone Mountain Pirates will be playing at home against the Cedar Grove Saints at 4:30 p.m. Stone Mountain has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Stone Mountain is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 19-4 to Cedar Grove. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 15 runs.

For Cedar Grove's part, Santos Clark was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Cedar Grove got a massive performance out of Javaire Brown, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Brown also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Brendon Flounory was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 3-for-4.

Cedar Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cedar Grove moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for Stone Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
