Baseball Recap: Roane County Comes Up Short

If Roane County was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Pigeon Forge Tigers by a score of 10-9 on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ryan Wilkins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Gage Browne, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Roane County's defeat dropped their record down to 27-8. As for Pigeon Forge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Roane County by a score of 6-2 on Thursday.
