Basketball Recap: Sarah Digiallonardo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Millennium over Ben Holt College Prep Academy

If Millennium was feeling good fresh off their 48-25 takedown of River Islands last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Millennium Falcons fell just short of the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats by a score of 33-31 on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. That was a full 35.5% of Millennium's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Gianna Negrete was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Millennium's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Millennium has already played their next game, a 44-28 win against Turlock Christian on the 25th. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they will face off against River Islands at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy is facing River Islands at the right time seeing as River Islands is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
