Softball Recap: Rejoice Christian Takes a Loss

Rejoice Christian had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They lost 9-1 to the Caney Valley Trojans. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Caney Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-3. Considering they have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Caney Valley's part, Riley Brooks was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kaylynn Edwards also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coming up, Rejoice Christian will look to defend their home field on Monday against Haskell at 6:00 p.m. As for Caney Valley, they will square off against Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Black Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
