Recap: Madison Warhawks vs. Valley Center Jaguars
The Madison Warhawks lost against the Valley Center Jaguars back in December of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Madison took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley Center.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Amyaha Walker, who scored 29 points. That was a full 70.7% of Madison's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sierra Minshew, who scored eight points.
Valley Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nashayla Chaipos out in front who scored 11 points along with three steals. Chaipos hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Jayde Mazzetti was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Madison's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Valley Center, they pushed their record up to 9-13 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Valley Center, they will head out on the road to square off against San Pasqual at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Center is facing San Pasqual at the right time seeing as San Pasqual is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
