Volleyball Recap: Pittsfield Triumphs

Pittsfield lost to Calhoun back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Saukees sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Saukees have posted against the Warriors since March 30, 2021.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Pittsfield who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 25-19.

Sophie Gengler paced Pittsfield's offense, picking up 12 kills. Gengler got some help from Lincoln McCartney and her 28 assists. McCartney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Pittsfield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
