Eastern proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Lewis Cass Kings 8-6. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Kings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Owen Seagrave got the start for Eastern and what a start it was: he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Owen Tolle was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Cash Boles was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Eastern's record now sits at 17-8. As for Lewis Cass, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Eastern will square off against Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lewis Cass, they have already played their next contest, an 8-5 defeat against Culver Academies on the 16th.
