Baseball Recap: Kendrick Comes Up Short

Kendrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sumter County Panthers, falling 14-2. The Cherokees were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Charles Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-1. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Kendrick's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sumter County, their record is now 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sumter County beat Kendrick by a score of 30-16 later that day.
