Basketball Game Preview: Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils vs. Southern Huntingdon County Rockets

The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bellwood-Antis is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Bishop McCort on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bellwood-Antis lost 58-35 to Bishop McCort. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Crushers are ranked 36th).

Despite the loss, Bellwood-Antis had strong showings from Lilly Gerwert, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five blocks, and Jenna Norton, who to rack up 13 points and seven rebounds. Gerwert is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County suffered their biggest defeat since January 11th on Monday. They came up short against Penns Manor, falling 48-28. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Rockets' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Southern Huntingdon County's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Bellwood-Antis, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
