Basketball Game Preview: El Cajon Valley Braves vs. Canyon Hills Rattlers

The El Cajon Valley Braves will face off against the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Cajon Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

El Cajon Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Rock Academy with points to spare, taking the game 60-41.

El Cajon Valley found their leader in sophomore McKinley Morgan, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morgan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Onnamarie Miller, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Canyon Hills sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 win over Hilltop on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rattlers.

El Cajon Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points over those games. As for Canyon Hills, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.

El Cajon Valley strolled past Canyon Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 50-34. Does El Cajon Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Canyon Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
