St. John Paul II hadn't done well against Grissom recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Tigers 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three contests in a row.

St. John Paul II had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-17, 18-16.

Rhyan Holloway paced St. John Paul II's offense, picking up 14 kills. Holloway got some help from Elizabeth Rohling and her 20 assists. Rohling was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

St. John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Grissom, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.

St. John Paul II has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against West Limestone on the 18th. As for Grissom, they will take on Sparkman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
