If La Quinta was riding high fresh off their 41-6 takedown of Orange on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The La Quinta Aztecs had to suffer through a 51-17 loss at the hands of the Torrance Tartars. The Aztecs' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, La Quinta still got an impressive performance from Katie Nguyen, who posted eight points. That was a full 47.1% of La Quinta's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

La Quinta's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Torrance, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

La Quinta and Torrance should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. La Quinta (ranked 483rd) will meet Western (ranked 1236th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. La Quinta's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Torrance's offense will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Torrance (ranked 279th) will meet Wiseburn- Da Vinci (ranked 803rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
