Football Recap: Salmon River's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Salmon River entered their tilt with Notus on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 38-15 margin over the Pirates. The Savages might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Salmon River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Cereghino and Riley Davis. Cereghino also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.

Despite the loss, Notus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mark Lungu rushed for 167 yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, Lungu is now averaging an impressive 110.4 rushing yards per game. Notus also got help from Sawyer Nicoletti, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.

Salmon River's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Notus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Salmon River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 72-46 loss against Tri-Valley on the 3rd. As for Notus, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-36 victory against Centennial Baptist on the 3rd.
