Basketball Game Preview: La Jolla Vikings vs. Otay Ranch Mustangs + How To Watch

La Jolla is 0-3 against Otay Ranch since December of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Vikings will host the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m.

La Jolla is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Bishop's on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings were dealt a 55-23 loss at the hands of the Knights. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, La Jolla had strong showings from Soila Chadwick, who posted 11 points, and AJ Jacoby, who scored six points and 11 boards. Jacoby is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, Otay Ranch came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Vaqueros by a score of 52-39.

Otay Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for La Jolla, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

La Jolla took a serious blow against Otay Ranch when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 62-30.
