Football Game Preview: Legacy Academy Silverbacks vs. Tucumcari Rattlers

The Legacy Academy Silverbacks will head out to square off against the Tucumcari Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Legacy Academy has six straight wins, Tucumcari has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Legacy Academy humbled Estancia with a 42-14 victory. Considering the Silverbacks have won four games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tucumcari fell victim to Santa Rosa and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Lions 49-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Rattlers were not able to get on the board.

Tucumcari's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Legacy Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Legacy Academy against Tucumcari in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silverbacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
