Football Recap: Ron Mooney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northern over North Point + How To Watch

After flying high against McDonough last Thursday, Northern came back down to earth. The Patriots took a 27-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Point Eagles on Friday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2022.

Northern's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ron Mooney, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of TDs. The Patriots also got help from Caleb Jones, who showed off his sure hands for 112 receiving yards.

Kyler Ferriera went supernova For North Point., throwing for 117 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 32 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northern fell to 2-1. As for North Point, the victory (which was their 12th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern will venture away from home to square off against Patuxent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Point, they will head out to challenge Lackey at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
